Onyx are so excited to announce that we now have Alipay & WeChat Payment Services.
What is Alipay?
It is a Chinese super app, with over 600 million active users and is unlike anything we use in New Zealand.
Like Apple Pay, you use a mobile device as a payment method for goods, services and products instead of credit cards or cash; however unlike Apple Pay, you can use the App to also search for accommodation, experiences and places to dine that all accept Alipay & WeChat Pay.
With a record number of 450 thousand Chinese visitors touring New Zealand each year, by using the global lifestyle super app Alipay, the hope is Cambridge will benefit from the large tourist numbers visiting our shores. If Cambridge could just entice 2% of Chinese visitors each year, that's an extra 9,000 visitors to our town who will need accommodation, dining options, shop and look for local experiences to do.
So the team at Onyx are excited to welcome Alipay and WeChat Payment Services and in turn welcome all our Chinese guests to our lovely town too.
